Last January, part of the ESSCA Alumni team had the privilege of attending a performance of Alexis Le Rossignol's show "Le sens de la vie".

As Alexis is an alumnus of the class of 2007, we couldn't miss his visit to Angers.

Naturally, Alexis began his show by saying that he knew Angers well, having studied at ESSCA.

Mixed reception in the room ☹

As Alexis is one of France Inter's leading figures, the image of the business school doesn't quite match up with its audience and the image people have of it. And Alexis inevitably ironizes about the investment in a Master's degree in Management and his job today. Nevertheless, Alexis went to ESSCA because he'd been told that a business school could help you do anything: his career path proves that to be true!

The show's starting point is its author's 40th birthday. What to do? Where to go? It's a pretext for digressing on a whole host of subjects, difficult to summarize here, so offbeat is the artist's universe.

Alexis spends her time recounting anecdotes, funny life situations, encounters and reflections on life and people. There's no real beginning or end, no real story, but it's fine, it's funny, it's tender, it's a bit of a UFO. There's no mockery in his sketches, no mean jokes and sometimes a bit facile.

At the end of the show, Alexis le Rossignol usually receives baskets filled with regional specialities.

We'd packed her a bag full of ESSCA Alumni gifts, and she was a sure-fire hit when she opened her basket!

The ESSCA Alumni team briefly met with the artist after the show, a charming man who almost apologized for having teased ESSCA, but who told us "there's nothing mean about it, I'm teasing, but really, it's a pleasure".

Alexis is on tour throughout France and at the Gaité Montparnasse in Paris.
