Conference: Towards a sustainable future / Expert perspectives on the European Union's commitment

Join us for a stimulating event on the European Union (EU) and its role in sustainable development.

As part of the Jean Monnet Chair program, we are proud to bring together leading experts to share their views on the EU's role in promoting sustainable development, and the challenges and opportunities it faces in this respect.

This event is an excellent opportunity for ESSCA alumni to renew acquaintances with other graduates and talk to these researchers specializing in this field.

A convivial moment with the researchers will close the conference (reception area / mezzanine).

  • Unity in Diversity - What is the EU?

Prof.Thomas HOERBER

Jean Monnet Chair for European Studies, ESSCA

Professor Hoerber's research focuses on European integration theory, with a particular interest in the connection between History and Politics. In addition, he works on European sustainability policies, a research interest which has led him to co-leading a UACES Collaborative Research Network on 'The Governance of Sustainability' and since July 2018 an international research network of the Alliance Europa on the same topic

  • Greening the Chain: What is a sustainable supply chain?

Prof. Katia PICAUD-BELLO

Associate Professor, ESSCA

Prof. Picaud-Bello is the Head of the Master's programme "Sourcing & Supply Chain Management" at ESSCA and coordinator of the PERISCOPE Erasmus+ project, which aims to prepare students to acquire future skills and key competences in the field of purchasing and supply management (PSM) in order to develop innovative and sustainable solutions.

Noam LEANDRI

General Secretary of ADEME

Noam Leandri, an economist by training with degrees from Sciences Po and the Sorbonne, has held various positions in the economic field, notably at the OECD and the Banque de France. He then served as budget and financial advisor to the Ministers of Housing and Ecology. Since November 2016, he has been General Secretary of ADEME. A specialist in finance and the green economy, Noam Leandri published the book "La Finance Verte" in 2021, which aims to explain how finance can transform the economy.
