HEC Repreneurs monthly round table

Dear entrepreneurs, we are delighted to invite you to our monthly round table on Wednesday May 15 at 6.30 pm.

Let's think big today!

In these difficult times marked by high interest rates and tight LBO financing, why not look at your search for a business to take over or your development through the prism of build-up?

As an alternative, starting with an initial small-scale operation (and therefore easier to finance), it can make it easier to finance future operations and build up a fine project and significant professional assets over time.

We'd like to explore the different facets of this issue with our speakers, and take advantage of their feedback with concrete case studies.

  • What profile should your first acquisition have? It's the first building block of your project.
  • Which sectors should you focus on? Sectors of activity where concentration is still lacking (multitude of small players).
  • What are the financial characteristics (first business with development potential to generate the cash flows needed for future activities)?
  • How to complete this first operation?
  • Upstream/downstream vertical integration, horizontal growth in related businesses
  • Company in good standing, or buyout at the helm
  • What specific skills will the buyer need to develop?
  • How to surround yourself with a task force, structure your set-up and workflows, think about HR integration, etc.?)
  • What pitfalls should be avoided?

To discuss this topic and explore its various facets, we will be pleased to welcome :

  • Maitre Albert Serfaty, Managing Partner, is a partner in a medium-sized Parisian business law firm specializing in restructuring distressed companies and M&A. He works on a daily basis with entrepreneurs and funds on national and cross-border transactions.
  • Mr. Etienne Avril, a partner at Vestra Capital, provides day-to-day support to SME managers in their search for financing, fund-raising and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Buyers who have developed their company with an external growth strategy.

As usual, the round table will be followed by a convivial cocktail reception.
